Hyperbaric Research
MS:
Oriani et al (1990) studied 44 MS patients - 22 in the 100% Hyperbaric Chamber group and 22 in the compressed normal air group.
In the Hyperbaric group, 14/22 reported benefits vs. 2/22 in the Hyperbaric air group reporting benefit.
Our experience: We've seen similar response rates using Hyperbaric Chambers in our Edmonton MS patients - approximately 50% show appreciable modest benefit.
Stroke:
Neubauer and End (1980) used Hyperbaric Chambers in 122 patients with acute and chronic strokes.
Of 79 patients chronic stroke patients who received Hyperbaric treatment 65% reported an improvement in the quality of life.
Our experience: Edmonton Stroke patients using our Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers tend to have a higher response rate due to higher pressures we use.
Lyme:
Texas A&M University - Lyme patients underwent up to 40 1 hour Hyperbaric Chamber Treatments.
Improvement or resolution of symptoms was observed 68/75 subjects within 3 weeks of completing treatment.

Yagishita (2019) looked at 32 rugby players with MCL injury.

How many Hyperbaric Treatments do I need?For most conditions, patients are treated once a day - scheduled Monday through Friday. For brain injury, the effects are gradual and 20 - 40 treatments may be required. What will I feel during in a Hyperbaric Chamber?You will definitely feel a fullness in your ears as your eardrums adjust. You will have to "crack" your ears to balance the pressure.
